2013 Montreal Pride & the LGBTQ Youth Centre

Tags: Celebration, Montreal, Pride Parade

Categories: Activities & Events

Pride week hosts a multitude of events which honour an important tradition that began in Montréal in 1979. The parade itself features floats from hundreds of local sports teams, cultural and community groups as well as other gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender organizations. Additionally, both gay and gay-friendly businesses join us in celebrating the significant contributions of their LGBTA employees and clients.

As a community-driven, not-for-profit organization, Montréal Pride is overseen by members of the business community, local LGBTA associations as well as representatives from the event-planning and tourism markets. The LGBTA Youth Centre is a proud participant in these events.

These events celebrate how diverse and inclusive our community truly is, and how much life exists outside of the closet. Célébrations LGBTA Montréal will celebrate all of the great recent advancements that our community has fought to achieve, including gay marriage. But more importantly, our organization’s mission is to continue to highlight how much more work is necessary to truly eradicate homophobia, both at home and abroad.
